Here's an example of a fine SQL report. This one has it all. ETLs (create tables), aggregations, flexibility for new business requirements. Especially those business requirements. This is why you do reports in iterations. One piece of business logic = one 'create table', so to speak. For example, you have a given metric, say, weighted average interest rate. And you just calculate that metric in a separate table and then join it to the main body of the report.

I know it looks long and scary, but you''ll get used to it and see that it is super efficient for a business oriented SQL professional.
