Oracle vs Teradata

After having switched from operating in Teradata environment back to Oracle I sure got emotional. From strictly business application side, Teradata is MUCH more enjoyable to use in day-to-day work. Primarily due to alias recognition. In practice, this feature proved to be super useful. Also, I feel like Teradata Assistant has a clean simple GUI and workflow design. Doing your job in Teradata feels smooth and fast. Exporting query results is especially easy (just select and copy). And query history is handy nearby (unlike in Oracle SQL Developer).

In my opinion Teradata Assistant beats Oracle SQL Developer in absolutely every aspect. The only two advantages Oracle has over Teradata is 1) in-depth export and import options 2) larger presence online (help, documentation and such).

To sum up, when presented with a choice I would go for Teradata with full confidence!
